How to Write a Steel Rail RFQ for Export

A practical checklist for overseas buyers requesting quotations on railway steel rails.

A clear RFQ saves rounds of clarification. Include at least:

  1. Standard and profile — e.g. UIC 60, GB 60 kg/m, AREMA
  2. Quantity and length — pieces or metric tons; fixed or variable lengths
  3. Destination — port, country, and preferred Incoterms
  4. Documents — mill test certificates and any third-party inspection
  5. Timeline — required ship window or project milestone

If you are comparing mills, also note hardness grade, end finishing, and packing method. Our team can translate these requirements into a production and logistics plan.
